Pressure Lose

When comparing corrugated hoses to newly welded steel pipes, it's important to note that corrugated hoses exhibit a 100% higher pressure loss. Therefore, to mitigate this increased pressure loss in corrugated hoses, a 15% larger diameter is necessary compared to the pressure loss value in steel pipes.

This higher pressure loss in corrugated hoses can be attributed to the inherent nature of their bore, which introduces more friction compared to smooth-bore corrugated hoses when dealing with fluid flow, such as water.

To utilize the chart effectively, start by identifying the required flow rate on the baseline. Then, draw a vertical line from this point on the baseline to intersect with the nominal bore line. This intersection point on the vertical axis will indicate the corresponding pressure drop.
